Business Manager Brian Cochrane, Union Officers and staff donate over $1800 to help families in need.
BURNABY – Upon hearing the Share Society Food Bank may have to scale back on food items provided to people in need this January due to a shortage of donations, IUOE Local 115 Business Manager Brian Cochrane and Union Officers initiated an immediate response.
IUOE Local 115 donated $1000 to Share Society, and union staff added an additional $835 donation to help Share provide food items to families in the Tri-Cities area.
“While most of us have been fortunate to have a joyous season filled with food, there are many families in need of the basics right here in our communities. A large portion of those people are children,” says Cochrane.
Cochrane stresses the importance of donating to food banks to help less fortunate neighbours not just during the holiday season, but all year round.
