DISPATCH

Members of IUOE Local 115 have exclusive access to our Dispatch. To find work as a member, you are required to book in and follow clearly defined protocols to ensure fairness and efficiency when it comes to employing members.

Members not working and seeking a copy of the dispatch rules, contact Dispatch or call 604-473-5230.

  • Members must choose a district to book in with, and can choose up to six
    classifications; you can only book in to one district at a time.
  • During book-in, dispatch will review member classifications based on updated certifications or preferences.
  • Members are reminded to check in at least every two months; failure to check in after three months can lead to removal from the dispatch list.
  • Dispatch only reaches out when work is available, and missed or declined calls count against the member; three declines removes them from the list.

A dispatcher will contact you regarding an open position, based on classification priority.

  • Members need to be available and be able to respond to a dispatch for work promptly when contacted by a dispatcher
  • If no response is received, a dispatcher will contact other members to fulfill the request from the employer.
  • Vacant positions must be filled within two business days.
  • Repeated non-responses or declines are tracked and can lead to removal from the list.
  • If a member is found to be working non-union and refuses union work, they are removed from the dispatch list.
  • A member removed from the list may book back in, at the bottom of the list.

Members working on non-union sites may be contacted by the union to support a union organizing campaign. 

Dispatch procedures may vary based on Collective Agreement.
